 
Noted Kannada film lyricist, actor and director, R N Jayagopal, died at his residence here on Monday due to old age, his family said.
He was 73 and is survived by wife and son.
Son of well-known veteran Kannada actor, late Nagendra Rao, Jayagopal had penned more than 1600 songs in his 40-year long career.
Besides penning lyrics, Jayagopal also acted in a few movies, including Tamil and had directed 10 films in Kannada. Jayagopal had played the villain’s role in actor Kamalhassan’s `Michael Madana Kamarajan, as the latter’s uncle and had also starred alongside him in the hit `Nayakan’, directed by ace film director Maniratnam.
His brothers R N Sudarshan and R N Krishnaprasad are also well-known actors. Source: Hindu
