This is one battle you cannot fight alone. In a show of solidarity, three IT services companies, faced with the challenge of fake resumes, have decided to wage a joint war against the scourge.
Wipro Technologies has taken the initiative to team up with two other domestic IT services majors to create a database of ‘fake CVs’ that have being the rounds in the last four months, Mr Pradeep Bahirwani, Vice-President, Strategic Sourcing, Wipro Technologies, told Business Line.
The fake CV racketeering is not just at the candidate level, but it’s a well-oiled machinery that’s operating which has to be handled, he said.
Working method
The modus operandi of the people involved in the racket is extremely professional. There are people who create shell companies and let loose candidates in the industry who are supposed to have worked for these companies, Mr Bahirwani said.
The faking happens at all levels: companies worked for, experience, customer projects and sometimes academic qualifications.
In the four months since the three IT firms have started to share the database, they have unearthed names of over 100 candidates and an equal number of fake companies.
Wipro agents
At another level, there are fake companies calling themselves ‘agents of Wipro’ offering appointment letters to candidates in Tier-II cities for a ‘fee.’
Mr Bahirwani said: “There are candidates who land in Bangalore with offer letters on the day they are supposed to be ‘joining Wipro’. “The extent of the rot is disturbing and the industry has to show solidarity now,†he said.
This initiative will support Nasscom’s Skills Registry exercise, which will have a larger number of companies registering their employees in the list. Source: thehindubusinessline

Big bucks in short span of time is one of the reasons to put fake experience.
secondly without experience will wipro or anyone for the cause take?
There are many professional with domain experience but they r not considered for entry level jobs also. Frustration anxiety compels to go for fake experience. If given a chance the functional non sap expert is far better than BTECH , MCA , BE GRADUATE.
I failed to understand what is Btech does in sap fico job? ask him what is the definition of finance he will fumble.
Such is the market . Top companies donot encourage domain experience at all.
So the list of fake companies, fake cv, fake candidates goes on and on.
That is SAP functional jobs.
The mistake also lies with the client who has superficial expectations.
The client want glossy picture of the team all experienced . Will the client keep quiet if u say that there is also a fresher in the implementation team.
In the company itself they must be having freshers at entry level but when it comes to implementation the client doesnot want fresher or non sap experienced guy.
The whole IT industry is full of euphoria. The big SHOTS COMPANIES,AGENCIES
should promote domain experience personnel in case of functional experts.
IBM, ACCENTURE , INFOSYS, WIPRO , CAPGEMINI, IGATE,HCL do they ever take freshers or atleast domain experience guy?
When someone puts fake experience they are asked only about project in the interview leaving aside basic concepts.
I wonder no.
It becomes difficult for a domain experienced guy to find a place at entry sap functional job . Why because one BTECH, BE, MCA is already to jeopardise ur job opportunities in IT sector.
IT SHOULD BE MADE MANDATORY THAT IF THE SIZE OF PROJECT TEAM IS 4 THEN 1 MUST HAVE DOMAIN EXPERIENCE AT ENTRY LEVEL. THEN WE WILL GET JOBS OTHERWISE NO.
HIGHTIME TO REALISE THAT BTECH, MCA, BE HAVE OTHERJOBS TO TAKE UP AND NOT TO JEOPARDISE FUNCTIONAL JOBS.
