Ganesh, Bhat rock again in 'Gaalipata'

Ganesh, Bhat rock again in 'Gaalipata'

Golden Star Ganesh and director Yogaraj Bhat form the most successful pair in Kannada cinema today. The combo struck gold in ‘Mungaaru Male’, which went on to become the biggest blockbuster in the history of Kannada films. And their much-awaited ‘Gaalipata’ hasn’t belied the huge expectations either.

Bhat has again proved his narrative skills and Ganesh rocks too.

The film gives viewers their money’s worth, with top-class technical contributions from some of South India’s best technicians like cinematographer Rathnavelu, editor Suresh Urs and art director Shashidhara Adapa.

Hari Krishna’s music is among the film’s main attractions. ‘Minchaagi neenu baralu’, rendered by Sonu Nigam, is already a hit among listeners.

The story revolves around three naive and confused youngsters packing their bags and moving out of their city apartment into a remote, hill-tinged village.

The three guys, with different outlooks, encounter different experiences in the new environment, and Bhat ties them together into a treat for the audience.

There are scenes where Bhat does not seem to come out of the ‘Mungaru Male’ hangover. But it is still a film that entertains without being formula-bound.

Ganesh, of course, walks away with the honours, but Diganth is a pleasant surprise.

Singer Rajesh Krishnan is in his elements in many sequences. Ananth Nag comes out with a commanding performance. Daisy Bopanna is cast in a different role and carries it off well.

Lucky Darshan

Lucky Darshan

It is rare that a big star will be able to know the reaction of his fans on the day his films releases. But Darshan was lucky enough to get such an opportunity thanks to a programme organised by a Kannada channel. On the day “Gaja” released, action hero Darshan was able to interact with many of his fans in various parts of Karnataka and he was quite happy and excited to get a positive reaction about the film.

After a long time “Gaja” has taken a fantastic opening throughout the state only to confirm that the actor enjoys a huge popularity among the masses. “We can talk and talk about our films. And whatever we speak about our film during the pre-release press meets or channel interviews will be meaningless if the people do not accept the film.

Our efforts have to be necessarily recognized by the people who watch our film. And I have always felt that is the sole parameter to determine the value of the film. That is why I am so happy that Gaja has been liked by fans who are seeing it again and again. The efforts of the entire team has been vindicated through the huge response the film has obtained in the first five day’s of the film’s release,” says Darshan. Source: Hindu

Ramya declining offers

Top actress Ramya, after her re-entry into Tamil has turned fruitful with her Polladhavan turning out to be the biggest hit among Diwali releases.

Ramya declining offers

Rumours were rife that veteran actress Ramya has been declining offers from Kannada, and is more interested in Tamil films. Talking to reporters during the shoot of Bhimoos Bang Bang Kids, her film with Upendra, Ramya said that she refused offers from Kannada only due to date problems.

I am not accepting Tamil offers rejecting Kannada. This is a wrong notion. A good role is what interests me, Ramya clarified to a question. I have declined to act in ‘Accident and Kamannana Makkalu’ because dates clashed. I have plenty of offers in Kannada, she said.

She declined the offer to play the female lead in Ravi Belagere’s upcoming film, Mukyamanthri I Love You, because she did not want to portray a real-life character. She made it clear that she gives importance to the role being offered to her rather than the language. She is currently doing three Kannada films for S.P.R. Productions.

Ramya is also doing another Tamil film opposite Surya titled ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ directed by Gautham Menon.
