Ganesha Matea Banda once again proves that Phani Ramachandra excels as a maker of clean and entertaining comedies. The next in line in the Ganesha series after “Ganeshana Maduve”, “Ganeshana Galaate”, “Gowri Ganesha” and “Ganesha-Subramanya”, “Ganesha Maththe Bandha” too caters to all classes of audience. The earlier films in the series continue to be hits in the DVD circuit now.

After a long gap from the film industry, Phani comes back to direct “Ganesha Maththe Bandha” that is sure to win over audiences with its great comedy quotient. Phani, through the film, sends the message that compatible mindsets are essential for the success of a marriage.

And though the film at times seems like a discourse on the merits and demerits of love and arranged marriages, it still ends up being a good entertainer.

“Ganesha Maththe Bandha” reflects the aspirations, emotions and dreams of the tradition-bound lower middle class families. But the film suffers because of poor music composition by V. Manohar and the background score could also have been better.

The cinematography is just average. If the technical aspects of this film were more advanced, “Ganesha Maththe Bandha” could have been an even better film.

Ganesha, the protagonist, is brought up in traditional moorings in a village near Sakleshpur, and he gets a job in Bangalore as a software engineer. His father wants him to stay in a Vataara, a cluster of middle class houses, belonging to his friend Padmanabhacharya, who is a strict disciplinarian.

Being a youngster with a modern outlook, Ganesha finds many paradoxes in Padmanabhacharya’s family. He likes Gayathri, the second daughter of Padmanabhacharya, who is also attached to traditional values and beliefs. Ganesha persuades her parents and the two get married.

Padmanabhacharya’s first daughter, meanwhile, has an inter-caste marriage. While her father doesn’t approve of the match initially, he relents later.

As the story proceeds, Ganesha gets disillusioned with Gayathri and Padmanabhacharya’s first daughter’s marriage also sours. The film shows how these problems get sorted out. See this film to enjoy the few laughs it provides.

Veteran actors Anant Nag, Vinaya Prakash and Doddanna are superb. Vijaya Raghavendra shows his mastery over comedy and he also displays his singing talent in a song. Pragna also shows class.

“Ganesha Maththe Bandha” is a sure entertainer and family audiences will definitely like it. — IANS

Madesha is an Kannada film starring Shivaraj Kumar and Sonu Bhatia. Maadesha movie is directed by Ravi Srivatsa and produced by B M Govardhan Murthy.

Madesha joins the league of movies which are based on the underworld. Hat-trick hero Shivarajkumar re-invents himself as a don in this movie. Madesha (Shivrajkumar) alias Mada alias Nanjangud Madesha accidently enters the world of crime as a teenager. Madesha wants to carve a niche for himself in Bangalore and doesn’t mind the underworld route. The golden-hearted goon goes out to seek justice for others in true underworld style.

Clever, tactful and manipulative, Madesha soon dethrones the don Guru Narayan (Ramesh Pandit) and in place crowns Sarkar (Ravi Belagere). But as power equations change Madesha takes over the reins. The movie is laced with good special effects-both visual and audio. Shivrajkumar gets funky with new style and stunts and lives the role. Though sentiments expressed towards one’s mother and motherland is worth watching, the film unnecessarily glorifies crime and provides justification too.

The dialogues apart from being proactive, deify Madesha. Due to lack of characterisation others including Sonu have little to offer. The songs are passable. Despite its breeziness, the film lacks soul, which is a pity, really. Source: deccanherald.com

Producer S V Babu is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that his fifth production Sangama is rich and spectacular in all the departments. And so, hit Telugu music director Devi Sri Prasad has provided music for the film, earning praise from hero Ganesh as well. And Mumbai based Vedika, who has studied in London, is a Bharatanatyam and Kathakali dancer as well. This Horanada Kannadathi, noticed in Madrasi opposite Arjun Sarja, loves Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit and double-acting!

That is not all. All the six songs have lyrics by Kaviraj and camerawork by Shekhar Chandru. And the man at the helm is Ravivarma, who began his career as a make-up man in Upendra’s Shh. Said Ganesh, “Sangama is a family entertainer with lots of scope in music and clean, healthy comedy dished out by Komal, Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokila.” By the way, Ganesh is a real-estate broker in the film with Vedika playing his next door neighbour. The talkathon continues then. Source: www.deccanherald.com
