Varasdhara Kannada movie
It is not known to what extent the claims of the underworld helping the government to fight terrorism are true, but Varasdhara makes this interesting premise a part of its plot, ‘inspired’ by Mario Puzo’s book The Godfather.
Heavily reminiscent of scenes from several films, the latest being Sarkar, the film depends heavily on Belagere.
With his unique style of talking and his girth, Belagere looks like a don but only in parts.
It is Dattanna and Suchendra Prasad who walk away with the acting honours. Dattanna as the frustrated elder brother craving for power and Prasad as terrorist Sohail send a chill down the spine.
Prasad’s role seems to be tailor made for the actor who usually swallows his words. Producers Star Creators may actually have ‘created’ a couple of actors—newcomers Sandeep and Ashwini. Both display a refreshing lack of self-conscious awkwardness and are convincing as lovebirds.
The rest of the cast hardly needs a mention, yet credit must be given to the director for providing some credible twists to a story that refuses to be buried after being done to death. Mohan’s camerawork is pleasant to the eye and Rajesh Ramnath’s music is adequate. Source: deccanherald
